Haiku du Jour #1

Prostrate if not prone
victory thru surrender
eluding me now
the algorhythm
leading edge to bleeding edge
is trending somehow
Nothing left to do
destination up ahead
unattainable

though empty and numb
the pursuit of advantage
beckons with a smile
Side by side we sit
like two wounded animals
licking at our scars­­
death by increment
overdose of solitude
natural causes
You say finally
the end of the beginning
I think this must be
